My alert has stopped returning results
A silent alert most often has a keyword that is too narrow or malformed, or simply no new publication matching what it looks for.
Before concluding that something is broken, four checks that take two minutes.
In detail
- Check that something has actually happened. Between sessions, a narrow alert can legitimately stay silent for weeks. Look at the parliamentary calendar first.
- Test your keywords in the search. If the search returns no results, the alert will return no results. It is the quickest test and it rules out half the cases.
- Loosen it. A phrase in quotation marks is very restrictive:
"transition énergétique juste"finds nothing if the document says "transition énergétique et juste". Try the asterisk, or remove the quotation marks. - Check that the alert still exists, and that its keywords are the ones you think, in Monitoring > Keywords. An alert can only be changed or deleted from its author’s account.
