Get notified about activity in a committee
To be told about a committee’s or an expert group’s activity, open its profile, click the bell icon and choose the frequency.
Following, in place of checking the register by hand.
In detail
A comitology committee tells nobody anything. Its documents appear in the register, often a few days before the meeting. Following turns that manual watch into a notification.
What following sends you
| Content | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| The documents | Draft measures, voting sheets and their outcome, working documents, participants’ contributions. This is the heart of it |
| The meetings | You know that a meeting is scheduled, and on what |
| The minutes | What was said in the meeting, once the minutes are published |
| The membership | Changes of members and functions, where the body has its members listed |
The four frequencies
As soon as available, twice a day (8am and 2pm), daily (8am) or weekly (Monday at 8am). On a committee, daily is enough: a register does not move at the pace of a parliamentary sitting.
What is really worth following
Draft measures and voting sheets. A draft measure gives you the text before it is adopted, and the voting sheet tells you what the member states did with it: positive opinion, negative opinion, no opinion. This is the information your national contacts do not always have themselves at the moment you call them.
