What happens when an account is closed
When an account is closed, it is deactivated, not deleted: sign-in and alert emails stop, and the alerts stay attached to the account.
The checklist to run through before a colleague leaves, and the alternative to closing the account for good.
In detail
| What happens | Detail |
|---|---|
| Access stops immediately | Sign-in is refused as soon as the account is deactivated |
| The alert emails stop | From the next send: a deactivated account no longer receives alerts |
| The alerts stay attached to the account | They resume as they were if the account is reactivated. For the successor to benefit, have them recreate the alerts, under the same names, before the last day |
| The labels and comments remain | Visible to the organisation if sharing is on |
The alternative to closing the account for good
| What you ask for | What it does |
|---|---|
| Temporary deactivation | The account is deactivated, then reactivated later with its plan and its alerts intact. This is the right setting for long leave or an extended absence |
It is requested at support@dixitplatform.com, and handled the same day.
The departure checklist
- Ask for the list of their alerts. From the person leaving, or from us. A quarter of an hour’s work.
- Have their replacement recreate them, under the same names, so that the continuity of the monitoring stays legible.
- Check that sharing is on before the last day, not after.
- Write to us to deactivate the account, for good or for the length of an absence. A single request is enough.
Deletion of data
For an account deletion request or a question about how long data is kept, write to support@dixitplatform.com: the request is handled by our data protection lead, and you receive a written reply.
