Create my first alert
You create an alert from the home page, with the Create a keyword alert card: a name, your keywords, the followed sources and a frequency.
Six settings, five if your account covers Europe only, three of which really matter.
In detail
| Setting | What it does | What we advise |
|---|---|---|
| Name | Free text | Name it by use, not by content. "Monday briefing" will still mean something to you in six months, biogas ; methanisation will not |
| Keywords | What Dixit will look for | The decisive setting. See the next page |
| Perimeter | Lets you exclude Europe. Not shown if your account covers Europe only | Exclude it if you only work on France: an immediate gain in quiet |
| Followed sources | The feeds monitored | Tick broadly at the start. You will cut what gets in your way once you see what it produces |
| Email frequency | When the email goes out | Daily for almost everything |
| Videos of parliamentary debates | Tells you when your subject is spoken in a sitting: at each occurrence, once per meeting, daily, or never | Keep sending at each occurrence for high-intensity periods. Switched on everywhere, it ends up meaning nothing |
Create as many alerts as you like, there is no limit. Several narrow alerts are always worth more than one broad one.
