Review 800 amendments efficiently
In the Amendments tab of a stage: filter, read the summaries, add your labels, then export, in that order and once only.
A five-step method, in the order that saves you doing the work twice.
In detail
- Filter first. In the search field on the page, type the beginning of the name of a political group, a committee or a parliamentarian: Dixit offers you the matches and one click turns them into a filter. The Show filters button adds the article, the outcome and the number.
- Read the summaries, not the operative text. Every amendment carries a summary of fifty words at most. It is there to sort, not to analyse: it is what takes you from eight hundred amendments down to the thirty or so that matter.
- Apply your labels as you go. Favorable, Défavorable, À suivre, Priorité 1: your categories, not ours. This is the work that will come out in your export.
- Open the full operative text only for the thirty that remain, using the chevron at the right of the row. The Viewer button gives a full-screen display, more comfortable for this phase.
- Export. The Word overview and Excel overview give you a presentable report; the PDF, Word and Excel exports give you the full batch, with the complete operative text of every amendment. The details are in the Producing a deliverable section.
