Does the API return the text of documents and transcripts?

  • Verified on
  • Scope France and Europe

Yes: a document’s detail returns its text, and a transcript’s detail returns its interventions in order, with their timestamps.

The text comes with the record, in the same response.

In detail

You do not have to go back to the source to read a document: the API returns its text together with its record.

Documents

A document’s detail returns:

  • its sections, when the source is structured;
  • its extracted parts, page by page or section by section, which carry the document’s text;
  • its link to the official source.

Sections and parts are served together when both exist: for the full text, read the parts. When the list of parts is empty, no text was extracted: the link to the official source takes over.

Transcripts

A transcript’s detail returns:

  • its interventions, in the order of the sitting, with their timestamps and, where recorded, their speaker;
  • its extracted text, when the source provides one;
  • its link to the official source.

On a very long sitting, the response tells you whether the list of interventions is complete. If it is not, the sitting’s list of interventions, paginated, gives you all of them.
